Mon - 09/03/2007 09:46
Dear disciples,
Nowadays a martial artist need not necessarily be a knight, a monk or a well-known philosopher. But he must possess the characteristics of the above mentioned individuals
As a knight he should be generous, involved. Always ready to be the weak and eliminate unfairness and oppressions. Using him as a symbol to create a good influence on others. He would always perform good deeds, always praising good reasoning, a firm statement, sensitive to all circumstances and he should know how to cope and resolve all conditions of life. Above all, he must be clever, upright, and always ready to confront obstacles with a firm and proper attitude without giving up. He should represent hope and trust for others moving forward being ever mindful of order and justice.
Using the above idea the late Grand Master of Vovinam Viet Vo Dao introduced the ideology of spirit and corporal revolution to promote key members. Those who are adopt in martial arts, knowledgeable about the way of martial arts, and pure in character, with human qualities, possess all that is required in order to become a true martial artist. Following the late Grand Master’s teaching, Vovinam disciples after sixty years have trained consistently both mentally and physically, gathering themselves to light a torch to gradually enter the world wide community so that Vovinam Viet Vo Dao can soon become the way of mankind.
