LEG - ATTACK TECHNIQUE RULES
IN VOVINAM ANTAGONIST COMPETITION
----------------------------------
Leg-attack technique is one of Vovinam technical systems using for attacking opponents.
Vovinam Leg-attack technique includes 21 official leg-attack techniques from No 1 to 21.
With an aim of making specific characteristic in Vovinam antagonist competition, apart from attacks, defends by punching, kicking, wrestling…..like other martial arts, Vovinam leg-attack technique is applied in antagonist competition.
In Vovinam rules, competitors who do not use leg-attack technique while competing 3 rounds will be subtracted 2 points as the match ends.
However, to guarantee competitors’ safety while competing, they are only allowed to use leg-attack techniques and following specific regulations:
Allow to use leg-attack techniques: No 3, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10.
Not allow to use leg-attack techniques: No 1, 2, 4 and 5.
Recognizing applies to leg- attack techniques and marking:
All leg-attack techniques which must be performed on 2 knees and touched opponents will be accepted.
Forbidding attacking opponents from 2 knees and under, in case of breaking will be reminded once.
Leg-attack technique No 3: Using 2 legs to clamp the thigh to strike down the opponent on his/ her back. Not allow to use 2 legs to clamp behind to strike down the opponent on his/ her belly.
Cases of clamping 2 legs into thigh:
- Striking down the opponent on his/ her back: Legal and recognizable “ applying leg-attack technique”: Get 2 points.
- Then the legs drop down below the knees, the opponent is not knock-down: Lawful and recognizable “ applying leg-attack technique”: Get no point.
- Then the legs drop down below the knees, the opponent falls on his/her back or belly:
Lawful and recognizable “ applying leg-attack technique”: Get 1 point knock-down.
Leg-attack technique No 6: Applying like leg-attack technique No 3
Leg-attack technique No 7, 8, 9, and 10:
- In case of touching the opponent, but ineffective:
Lawful and recognizable “ applying leg-attack technique”: Get no point.
- In case of touching the opponent, and effective, the opponent is thrown out 1 meter away or fallen down.
Legal and recognizable “ applying leg-attack technique”: Get 2 points.

World Vovinam Federation headquarter would like to announce that the second World Vovinam Championship will be held in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam from 27th to 31st of July, 2011, hosted by Vietnam Vovinam Federation.
The event is expected to receive 20 national Vovinam teams with more than 300 officials, referees, coaches and athletes from around the world to compete in Quyen Kata performance and Fighting (men and women categories).
Time: from July 28 to July 30 (competition)
Venue: Phu Tho Stadium, District 10, Ho Chi Minh city.

Championsphip Closing Ceremony at 19:00 on July 30
On this occasion, World Vovinam Federation will hold the Senior Meeting in order to review the international Vovinam movements in the last 2010 and discuss on the coming activities in 2011.
Time: at 9:00 on July 28
Venue: Rex hotel, District 1, Ho Chi Minh city.

Dear Sirs/Madams,
In order to implement the activity plan of the first term of the WVVF Executive Council, pursuant to the decision of WVVF leaders in the meeting of WVVF standing committee on January 25th 2011, World Vovinam Federation head office would like to announce that the second
World Vovinam Championship will be held in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam from 25th to 31st of July, 2011, hosted by Vietnam Vovinam Federation.
Each National Vovinam Federations/Associations and countries of Vovinam
movement may send one team to the Championship, including one leader, one coach and athletes. The organizing committee will cover food, lodging and transportation for 10 members of the delegation (2 officials and 08 athletes). Additional participants will have to pay 150 USD per person per day.
Delegations are requested to confirm your participation and submit all obligatory documents/registration forms to the World Vovinam federation and Vietnam Organizing committee at the time appointed. Also, name list and personal information of the participants should be informed to the Organizing committee in official documents.

METHODS OF COMPETITION:Competition is conducted in accordance with the WVVF Refereeing Rules. 9. COMPETITORS REQUIREMENTS:9.1. Competitor's ageThere is no age limit for competitors. Reminder: For competitors under 18 year old, the second entry must be countersigned by parent / guardian. 9.2. Competitor's nationalityContestant must hold the same nationality of their National Federation. Contestants are required to show his / her passport during the nationality control procedure, in order to confirm their nationality. 9.3 Competitor's genderThe female competitors may also have to undergo the Gender Control. The competitor that is able to produce a produce a gender certificate issued by an official institution will be exempted. 9.4 UniformAll Vovinam uniform must be in accordance with the WVVF regulations. The sewing of identification of the jacket (abbreviation of country/region) will be done on 26 - 27 Judy, 2011 from 9:00 to 18:00 each day. Competitors are required to attend the opening, awarding and closing ceremonies in Vovinam uniform or official track-suit. It is expected that each delegation will have a uniform appearance. 9.5 Health qualification:All competitors must have a certification to ensure athlete¡¦s good health condition enough for the sports competition. This health certification documents should be submitted together with national team¡¦s registration upon your arrival in Vietnam. Otherwise, the Organizing committee will set up a health-checking time for all athletes on registration day. 10. REGISTRATION:10.1 Each Federation / Association may enter ONE (1) competitor or team in each category. 10.2 Limitation: each Federation / Association can only apply: - NOT exceed 8 male Kata Quy.n categories and 4 female Kata categories. - NOT exceed 2 performances of team Kata (male and female combined). - NOT exceed 8 male fighting categories and 4 female fighting categories. 10.3 All entries for competitors must be listed on the enclosed forms and must be submitted to the following address: World Vovinam Federation: Tel : (848) 38933007 – Fax: (848) 39110558 E-mail: contact@vovinam.org.vn - Hotline: Mr Hien 84932796500 10.3 National flagEach National Federation / Association is required to bring two (2) National Flags (120 cm X 180 cm) and National Anthem (short version in cassette or CD) for ceremonies. 10.4 Deadline:- Preliminary Entry by number: NO LATER THAN May 30, 2011. - Final Entry and Questionnaire: NO LATER THAN June 30, 2011. - Entry for Media: NO LATER THAN June 30, 2011. - Hotel Reservation: NO LATER THAN June 30, 2011. - Travel Schedule: NO LATER THAN June 30, 2011. 11. ACCREDITATION:Two photos for each participant must be sent to the Organizing Committee together with the final entry form, for the issue of accreditation card. An accreditation card will be issued to each participant on his arrival at the Hotel and this accreditation card should be carried at all time. 12. EXPENSES12.1 Accommodation - The Organizing Committee ensures expenses for accommodation of 10 persons (02 officers and 08 athletes) from 27 to 30 July 2011. - Additional participants will pay 150 USD/person/day to the Organizing committee. - All National Federations have to make a reservation and payment (for additional participants) through Vietnam Vovinam Federation. 12.2 Land transportThe organizing Committee will provide transport from Tan Son Nhat International Airport to the hotel upon arrival and from the hotel to Airport on departure. During the Championships, transportation will be provided between the venue, training sites and hotels at predetermined times and schedules. 12.3 InsuranceEach National Federation / Association will assume all responsibility for accident and health insurance as well as the civil liability for their contestants and officials. The WVVF and organizing committee refuse all the liability of any claims of illness, injury and death. 13. WEIGHT-IN:
Each day of the competitions, the weigh-in will be organized. - Un-official weigh-in: 06:00-06:30 - Official weight-in: 06:30-07:00 14. DRAW:The draw will be held immediately after the delegation meeting under the control and auspices of the WVVF. Each National Federation must send a delegate to attend the draw; a maximum of 2 delegates will be authorized. 15. REFEREES:Team Referee: Each delegation can enter ONE referee (all expenses are to be covered by each team) who must hold a WVVF Referee Certification. Nominated referees: appointed by the WVVF. (The accommodation expenses with meals for the nominated referees are to be covered by the Organizing Committee) 16. SANCTION:In case of any violation of the WVVF Rules and regulations, the Championship Regulation or any misbehavior during competitions, including anti-doping codes or any involvement in a smear campaign of any attempt against the WVVF or Vietnam government, sanctions can be concluded by the Championship Organizing Committee or WVVF leaders. Athletes and Referees may be suspended of right/duty due to any disqualification or misbehaviors against the mentioned rules/regulation. ********************************************************************
