The Beginning & The End

The beginning
With open eyes, I came into this world.
Wondering, dreaming, thinking..
Not one tear fell from my eyes
Silent, dry, thinking…
Until the man hurt me
Pain, crying, thinking…
So this is life.

*. This poem means that others cause me pain. I came into this world without pain or tears, but the doctor caused me both. Throughout life, this will probably be the scenario I’m in.
Other people hurting me. I once heard my mother say that the reason people cry when they are born is because they know of all the pain and suffering they will have to endure. She also told me of how I didn’t cry when I was born, and the doctor had to spank me to get me to cry.

The End
Have you ever read a book,
When after “The End” you look,
And find out the pages go on?
Doesn’t this seem wrong?
They sit there with nothing,
Blank. But do they mean anything?
What about life? Is it also like this?
Is death truly the end? A state of bliss?
Or are there blank pages, waiting to be filled?
A State of existence, where we still have free will?
These questions may seem silly and dumb,
But we will only know, when death comes.

*. I Wrote this poem because now and then, I think of Death. Sitting there, I wonder and contemplate of what exactly death is. After a while, I noticed that many books had pages after “The End”, and I began to compare the two. This poem resulted.
This poem questions death. It is trying to find out if death really is the end; or is there something more? In asking these questions, a book is used to compare it too. But in the end. The questions is still unanswered. Only in experiencing death, can the truth be revealed.
