Mother

M is for the million things she gave me, O means only that she’s growing old. T is for the tears she shed to save me,
H is for her heart of purest gold.
E is for her eyes, with love light shining.
R means right, and right she’ll always be.
Mother is just a simple word,
But to me there’s meaning seldom heard.
She sets me straight and then sets me free,
And that’s what the word “Mother” means to me?
Our Mother is the Sweetest and most delicate of all.
She knows more paradise
Than angles can recall,
She’s not only beautiful
But passionately young,
Playful as a kid, yet wise
As one who has lived long.
Her love is like the rush of life
A bubbling, laughing spring.
She is at once the field and bower.
In which our hearts take root
She is at once the sea and shore.
Our freedom and our past,
With her we launch our daring ships
Yet keep the things that last.
Our Mother is so wonderful
So gentle, yet so strong
The many ways she shows she cares
Always make me feel I belong
For all the things I didn’t say
About how I felt along the way
She guides me and wishes me the best
She cheers me up; she fills my cup
With tenderness, com what may
Good or bad, happy or sad
She supports me; she always comes through
Her unfailing love without limit
Her ability to soothe my every pain
So, for all the times I didn’t say
The love I felt for her each day,
Happy Mother’s Day!
